Thanks for visiting us!

My name is Hilda Rey and I organize and coordinate Found Space. A little about me is I have a degree in Theatre and Art Direction and I love to engage with my community. I began Found Space to create an environment where people would feel free to try new things in art in a fun and engaging manner. I like to think we challenge artists to engage with their audience and community in a more active way by getting to know each other and trying new crafts together.

More about Found Space, officially began in 2022 Friday the 13th of May, we started off with a huge gallery called Lincoln Artists Collective Interactive Gallery, or LACIG for short. It hosted over 30 artists from around the Lincoln, Nebraska area and showcased all kinds of art from culinary to visual to film to music. It was a blast to work on a project with so many moving parts and an honor to give so many artists a space to show some of their most unique and vulnerable pieces. After that adventure, we began events like the Artsy Yard Sale where local artists could sell their work in a yard sale-like space (out of generous people's backyards). It was a smashing success and a great opportunity to shop locally, we hosted three Artsy Yard Sales in 2022. Then we started First Friday events and every Friday craft stops at local shops, which ran for about 2 months and was also very greatly attended, unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control we are no longer partnering with the organizations we used to partner with making those events come to an end in 2022. Then came 2023, and this is when everything started to change. We decided after evaluating the events of our past and what we wanted to do in the future that the best way to move forward was to take a short break. Found Space will now only be operating between Late Spring through Early Fall. Although this is a big change we found it necessary to keep the collective running. To create fun community spaces like the ones we have created in the past we need the ability to have time off to plan, create, and evaluate to continue to give you the great events we have had in the past. Thats why we are excited to announce a jam-packed summer season of events this 2023. So stay tuned on our socials and on our Events page for more updates!

Thank you all - Hilda Rey
